#1
Sip and Sonder
Owners Amanda-Jane Thomas and Shanita Nicholas opened their specialty coffee house back in 2017 in Inglewood. Their goal was to be more than a coffee shop, rather a space for the community to create, network, and feel at home. Like all coffee shops and cafes they have had to adjust during COVID to find ways to remain afloat. One of the ways they pivoted was by starting to roast their coffee in-house. Swing by and checkout their two new roasts South Market (medium roast) and Native Daughter (light roast).
108 S Market St, Inglewood, CA 90301
#2
Harun Coffee
Owner Chase Infiinte has a long history in the entertainment industry and opened Harun to become a cultural hub in Leimert Park. Besides delicious caffeinated drinks, you can also fill up on nutritious smoothies, sandwiches, and wraps while you shop next door for shirts, hats, jackets, and other retail items from Harun Intl.
4336 Degnan Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90008
#3
Hot and Cool Cafe
Hot and Cool opened in 2018 and ever since has been an excellent choice for both tea and coffees. Owner Anthony Jolly has been very active giving back to the community by providing free meals to seniors during COVID. Also located in Leimert Park next to Eso Won Books and across the street from Harun Cafe.
4331 Degnan Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90008
#4
Hilltop Coffee + Kitchen
Ajay Relan and Yonnie Hagos opened Hilltop after experiencing a lack of locally owned coffee shops in south LA. Since opening in Viewpark in 2018 they have successfully opened a 2nd location in Inglewood in partnership with actress Issa Raw from HBO’s Insecure. Hilltop offers a fun all-day menu featuring our favorite Soul Bowl (poached egg, creamy grits, braised collard greens, charred corn)
View Park - 4427 W Slauson Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90043
Inglewood - 170 N La Brea Ave, Inglewood, CA 90301
#5
South LA Cafe
Growing up in South LA, owners Celia and Joe Ward-Wallace opened South LA Cafe after experiencing the “food desert” in the area and wanting to provide fresh, healthy food options for the community. Since opening they have become a community space for all residents new and old while staying true to the history and culture of South LA.
