Bringing Fresh, Healthy Food to South LA

We’re opening a community owned grocery store in South LA to increase access to natural, organic foods for our community.

Rooted in the historic Crenshaw district, SoLA was created to address longstanding inequities in food access while building community power through collective ownership and participation. Although opening a locally-owned grocery store is our North Star, SoLA also serves as a resource for health and wellness education, economic opportunity, and neighborhood self-determination.

SoLA is currently in stage 3 of our co-op development timeline, and we are moving forward with plans to raise funds and select a site for our store. We are projected to open our doors within 24 to 36 months.

SoLA currently has 735 owners and is growing!

Through policy advocacy, community programming, and cooperative ownership, SoLA helps residents of South LA shape a food system that reflects the area’s local values, culture, and aspirations. Join SoLA to become part of the solution.
